My Commitments to Catholic Education

For more than 15 years, Wellington Catholic has shaped my family’s life. I have watched my children grow in faith, seen my husband dedicate himself to his students, and witnessed the quiet, daily work of educators who serve with compassion and conviction. These experiences have given me a deep trust in our Catholic school system and a clear vision for how we can continue strengthening it for future generations.

Catholic education thrives when families, schools, and parishes work together. My priorities reflect the heart of that mission: forming students in faith, supporting their well‑being, welcoming every child as a child of God, and stewarding our publicly funded system with care and prudence.

My Vision

A Faithful, Future‑Focused Approach

Catholic education is a blessing in our community. It is rooted in relationships, guided by Gospel values, and strengthened by the partnerships between families, schools, and parishes. My vision is to support a system where students encounter faith, feel known and supported, and grow into discerning, compassionate citizens.

As a trustee, my role is to be a steady, principled anchor — listening carefully, asking thoughtful questions, and ensuring that decisions reflect both our Catholic identity and our responsibilities as a publicly funded system.

Supporting Faith Formation

Keeping Catholic Identity at the Heart of Our Schools

Faith formation is central to who we are. I have seen firsthand how school–parish Masses, sacramental preparation, spiritual development days, and community events like the Bishop’s Dinner enrich our schools and strengthen our Catholic identity.

I am committed to supporting:

  • Strong parish–school partnerships

  • Opportunities for staff faith formation

  • Curriculum and policies aligned with Catholic teaching

  • Practices rooted in the Catholic Graduate Expectations

  • Liturgical life that helps students encounter Christ

Faith formation is not an add‑on — it is the foundation of Catholic education.

Equity & Inclusivity

Welcoming Every Child as a Child of God

Catholic education teaches that every person is created in the image of God and deserving of dignity. That includes every student, regardless of background, gender, sexuality, ability, or circumstance. Our schools must be places where all children feel safe, valued, and welcomed.

I support approaches that reflect both our call to inclusion and our responsibility to remain faithful to Catholic identity. This includes visible signs of welcome — such as raising the Pride Flag — when done thoughtfully, pastorally, and in alignment with board policy and Catholic values. All children are children of God, and they deserve to know they belong in our schools.

My commitment includes:

  • Accessible learning environments

  • Inclusive practices rooted in Catholic social teaching

  • Equitable allocation of resources

  • Respectful dialogue that honours diverse experiences

  • Policies that protect student dignity and well‑being

Supporting Children’s Mental Health

Caring for the Whole Child

Children’s mental health is one of the most pressing issues facing families and educators today. As a parent, parishioner, and long‑time volunteer, I have seen how mental health challenges affect students’ learning, relationships, and sense of belonging.

Trustees have a responsibility to ensure that schools are equipped to support students with compassion and care. I will advocate for:

  • Strong mental health supports in schools

  • Training and resources for staff

  • Early identification of barriers to learning

  • Partnerships with community agencies

  • Policies that promote safe, supportive environments

When students feel connected, supported, and seen, they thrive — academically, socially, and spiritually.

Stewardship of Our Publicly Funded Catholic System

Protecting a Gift for Future Generations

I feel profoundly blessed that Catholic education thrives as a publicly funded system in Ontario. Public funding allows our schools to welcome every child as a child of God, regardless of circumstance. Protecting this system requires strong advocacy and prudent stewardship.

I am committed to:

  • Advocating respectfully at the provincial level

  • Supporting transparent, values‑based resource allocation

  • Prioritizing classroom supports

  • Encouraging long‑term financial planning

  • Strengthening partnerships that expand opportunities without expanding costs

Publicly funded Catholic education is a gift. My commitment is to safeguard it with care, clarity, and conviction.
